Italy Fall 08

Independent Travel-Study Weeks

In addition to academic tours during the semester, AMBEX students also have three separate weeks to travel on their own while they complete assignments in preparation for the upcoming lectures.  As students prepare for classroom lectures by reading selected materials, they are permitted to travel extensively beyond the city limits of Regensburg. France, England, Greece, Finland, you name it! Round-trip airfare from Munich or Nurnberg to most major cities in Europe usually costs around 100 Euros, making international travel extraordinarily inexpensive. Additional means of transportation, such as train travel within Germany is easy to use and is relatively inexpensive. Traveling anywhere within Bavaria (Germany’s largest & most beautiful state) with a group ticket costs an average of 9 Euros/day with five classmates.

During Independent Travel Weeks students also have the option of going on mission/ministry trips with local missionaries. In the past students have gone to Romania, Hungary & all over Germany to support & assist local churches & missionaries in their endeavors. AMBEX will assist in connecting students with these ministry partners whenever possible. In addition there are many additional outreach opportunities available through World Venture.
